The Development Officer, Corporate Partnerships will join a growing team to help raise critical funds necessary to transform lives at The Bowery Mission. The Development Officer will serve as the face of The Bowery Mission with a defined caseload of corporate supporters, developing and stewarding relationships with them. The Development Officer will work with a passionate team of fundraisers and collaborate with other members on the Development and Program teams to successfully cultivate corporate partners and increase new prospects level of engagement with the Mission. The Development Officer has expertise in building relationships with corporate partners and cares deeply about the men, women, and children that The Bowery Mission serves.


Reports to: Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Manage a caseload of corporate partners with the capacity to make gifts of $5,000 and above. Execute a tailored strategy for each partner through phone calls, correspondence, written proposals, face-to-face meetings, volunteer engagements and tours.
  2. Achieve activity metrics which serve to meet the revenue goal such as meaningful touchpoints, meetings and solicitations.
  3. Become an expert in telling The Bowery Mission story, getting to know and collaborating with key staff members, programs, and guests and clients in order to articulate the case for support.
  4. Identify, research and cultivate corporate prospects utilizing research tools, Bowery Mission networks and events, external events, and current donor and volunteer relationships.
  5. Actively participate as a member of the Partnerships team in sharing resources, supporting team goals, and collaborating in a variety of ways.


Qualifications:

  1. Embrace the organization’s Statement of Faith.
  2. Ability to distill complex information into coherent and compelling content both verbally and in writing.
  3. High integrity and ability to develop trust-based relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. A working knowledge/understanding of and preferred experience in fundraising.
  5. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a genuine desire to engage deeply with corporate partners.
  6. Ability to take direction, creatively problem-solve, and meet a variety of deadlines with excellence. 
  7. High level attention to detail.
  8. Growing passion for those experiencing homelessness, hunger and poverty.
  9. Bachelor’s Degree.


Preferred:

  1. At least two years of donor-facing fundraising experience, preferably with corporate partners.
  2. Understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility.
  3. Knowledge of nonprofits and philanthropy.
  4. High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office software.
  5. Proficiency with CRM databases.
